A New Way to Play...
Beach Water Polo is a new and exciting concept that is hitting the shores (or should we say shorelines) of Australia! Open to participants of all ages, skill levels and fitness, Beach Water Polo is a modified format, played on a smaller field and with only 4 players. With men's, women's & mixed competitions in a range of different locations, there is nothing stopping you from diving in and giving it a go!
Beach Water Polo is a day out for families, friends and team mates. An opportunity to spend a day in and out of the water with plenty of activities planned. You can swim out and spectate from the water, bring your own kayak or paddle board, or kick back on the beach and relax. This unique and exciting playing experience is a first of its kind in Australia and we want to create an unforgettable day for everyone involved.
If this sounds like you and you would love to get involved, follow us on Instagram and Facebook so you don’t miss our 2019/20 season announcements!
Teams and Registration
It's never been easier to organise a team than Beach Water Polo Fours! For team captains, create a team with a password and invite your mates to join! That means, no more chasing up people for money or their personal details - just send them the team password and they can sort themselves! Team captains can even pre-pay for up to 7 players if necessary, sending them email links to join. You can also purchase event merchandise during this process, or log back in later to order.
Teams are minimum 4 players and a maximum of 8, and are separated male, female and mixed. Depending on popular demand, we will try to ensure that teams play similarly matched teams where ever possible!
Each event has early bird, standard and late pricing, so get in as quick as you can to secure the best price and save some $$!
We will show you where you can register when our 2019/20 events have been announced!
Beach Water Polo is everything we love about water polo, but opened up for everyone! Played on a smaller field with with only 4 players and turnaround restarts, the game has less up and back swimming and more time playing!
Games are overseen by official referees and played on a centralised time clock, so the ball is always in play. This modified format allows for all fitness and skill levels and aims to maximise enjoyment of the sport.
The tournament itself will a one day format, where we aim to give teams a minimum of 3 games - it might not sound like much, but trust us, it's heaps! Draws will be released in the week before the event, with the number of teams determining the competition format, where we will aim to provide bowl, plate and championship playoffs.
